NEWS FOR WEEK 11/7/22 – 11/11/22
From the Manager: The foundation crew has been working hard this week and we now have walls! The foam block you see in the photos will get cement poured in the center and the forms will then stay in place. This provides for insulation on both inside and outside of the cement, which Emmet County requires. This also allows for the cement to be poured even though we are facing some colder temperatures next week. Regarding the topic of PARKING (overflow AND boat parking), it has been determined that until further notice, the parking area at the Community Center is …

HCCP Board Plans New Pool Building
View Architect’s Preliminary Plan At the Harbor Cove Community Properties’ (HCCP) annual meeting held on July 2, preliminary plans for the new pool building were revealed. While plans aren’t final, in a nutshell they are as follows: Building will be approximately 6,500 sf, slightly larger than the old building. Plans include an office, locker rooms, indoor pool and hot tub and community room. There will be no sauna. A small kitchenette will include residential appliances, but no range. A range would make it a commercial kitchen requiring a $20k commercial hood vent. Improved dehumidification system. Electric vehicle parking stations. Timeline: …
Indoor Pool Updates
Updates will be posted here as they become available. As of 4/8/22 there is no anticipated date for construction of a new indoor pool, and there definitely will not be one for the summer of 2022. Demolition is complete, and the board is currently interviewing architects and builders. Soon a survey will go out to the owners; for the HCTS units it will go to the HCTS board for completion. After that plans will be developed. Lora reports that, though they usually don’t open the outdoor pool until the second week in June, under the circumstances this year they plan …
